Wireless Internet & Printing

All Kitchener Public Library locations offer convenient wireless printing. You can easily connect to our printers from your device, and retrieve your print jobs using our contactless curbside pickup service.

General Information

  • At the moment, we are only accepting black and white print jobs.
  • Printing fees have been temporarily waived.
  • Printing is available at all library locations, with a limit of 10 pages per customer per day.
  • After submitting your print request, please call the library location you selected within two hours. Otherwise, your print job will be deleted.

Printing from the App in 4 Easy Steps

Step 1: Download the PrinterON app

Visit https://printeron.com to download the PrinterON app to your device.

Step 2: Send your print job

Open the app, and tap the “No Printer Selected” message. Search for Kitchener Public Library.

Select one of the following printers:

  • Central: “Central – Main Floor – BW”
  • Country Hills: “CHCL – BW”
  • Forest Heights: “FHCL – BW”
  • Grand River: “GRSP – BW”
  • Pioneer Park: “PPCL - BW”

You will see options to print documents, photos, or webpages. You can also print email attachments.

Documents / Photos:
Select a document or a photo from your device. A preview will appear. Tap the Print button.

From the web:
Enter the address (url) of the webpage you want to print. The webpage will appear on the screen. Tap the printer icon at the top-right to see a preview. Tap the Print button.

Email attachments:
Open the email attachment. You can send it to the PrinterOn app using the "Open With" option, or the sharing options on your device.

Enter your name (first and last) and send the print job. You should receive a notification when the print job has been sent.

Step 3: Confirm receipt

Share your first and last name, and type of print job. Staff will confirm receipt and print your job.

Step 4: Go to the library

When you arrive at the library, follow the instructions on the Curb and Carry sign.

 

Printing from Email in 4 Easy Steps

Step 1: Open your email

Step 2: Send your print job

Compose or forward an email to one of the following email addresses:

Type your full name in the subject line. You will get an email confirming your print job is ready.

Step 3: Confirm receipt

Printing from the Web in 4 Easy Steps

Step 1: Go to bit.ly/KPLprinter

Step 2: Send your print job

Under "Printer", choose one of:

  • Central: “Central – Main Floor – BW”
  • Country Hills: “CHCL – BW”
  • Forest Heights: “FHCL – BW”
  • Grand River: “GRSP – BW”
  • Pioneer Park: “PPCL - BW”

Under "User Info", enter your first and last name.

Under "Select Document", choose a file from your device or upload a webpage link.

Press the green printer icon at the bottom of the page.

Step 3: Confirm receipt

Wireless Internet

Kitchener Public Library provides free wireless Internet access at all locations. The support of the Ontario Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Sport for the implementation of wireless Internet service is gratefully acknowledged.

How to connect:

  1. Access the network/wireless connection settings for your laptop, phone or tablet. Select network “KPL Main" or the community library location.
  2. Open your browser. The library's Internet Access Policy will appear.
  3. Once you have read and accepted the Internet Access Policy, you will be connected to the Internet.

A wireless hotspot is not a secured network environment. Keep this in mind if you are accessing confidential personal or business information. It is the responsibility of the library customer to take appropriate measures to secure his/her data and equipment, and to configure his or her laptop to access the wireless service.
